Diaper rash creams/ointments that contain petroleum, petrolatum, or fish oil should not come into contact with the cloth diapers. These products cause irreversible damage and most common creams contain these, so please check the label carefully. If you need to use a product with these ingredients, please use a flushable, fleece, or silk liner over the diaper. Typically, diaper creams available at natural food stores do not include these products and zinc oxide is safe for cloth diapers. Many also use coconut oil!
